New Delhi, 19 February 2013: Indian women’s team continued their winning journey by beating team Malaysia 3-0 on the second day of the Hero Hockey World League Round 2 Delhi 2013 played at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium today.
India converted an early penalty corner into a goal in the 9th minute of the game through Vandana Katariya. In the 38thminute of the game Vandana struck again by beating the Malaysian players and scooped the ball into the goal post to convert the second goal for her team. Rani scored the third goal for India in the 65th minute of the game.
Vandana Katariya, was declared Player-of-the-Match for scoring brilliant two goals.
Earlier during the day, Russia defeated Fiji 9-0 and Japan beat Kazakhstan 11-0 in a one sided game.
India will now face Fiji on Thursday, 21 February 2013 and Malaysia will play against Kazakhstan on 21st February 2013.
