New Delhi, 1 January 2014: Hockey India today announced the commencement of ticket sales for the forthcoming Hero Hockey World League Final Delhi 2014 to be held at Major Dhyan Chand National Hockey Stadium in New Delhi from 10-18 January 2014.

The prices of the tickets will be Rs.50 for General Admission and Rs. 1000 for VIP seating. Each ticket entitles the spectator to watch all the matches being held on each day. The stadium has the capacity of accommodating almost 16,000 spectators.

Fans can also buy their tickets from 16 Twenty Four Seven Retail Stores and 14 The Mobile Stores across Delhi/NCR.

Hockey India Secretary General Dr. Narinder Batra said, “Top teams of the world will be seen in action during Hero Hockey World League Final Delhi 2014 who are slated to play in the forthcoming FIH World Cup 2014. We are looking forward to the participation of hockey fans to come and encourage the teams.”

The nine days will feature eight teams fight out for the title playing 24 matches at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

The tournament is set with two pools followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals, classification and medal matches. India is placed in Pool A with Germany, England and New Zealand, while Australia, Netherlands, Belgium and Argentina are placed in Pool B. India will open its campaign against England on 10 January 2014 followed by New Zealand on 11 January 2014 and Germany on 13 January 2014.

All India matches in the pool stage will be played at 2000hrs.

FIH World League will be used to decide which teams will qualify alongside the Continental Champions and Hosts for future Olympic Games and FIH World Cups. All teams playing in FIH World League will gain World Ranking Points. Because FIH World League will replace the qualifying tournaments for Olympic Games and FIH World Cup, there will be an adjustment to the number of World Ranking Points to be gained from those events from 2014.
