–           Hockey Patiala beats Hockey Uttarakhand 1-0 to enter the Finals

–          Hockey Gangpur-Odisha outwits Chandigarh Olympic Association 4-1, book a spot in the Finals

Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, 4 May 2015: The 5th edition of the Hockey India Junior Women National Hockey Championship 2015 (Div B) being played in Rajnandgoan, Chhattisgarh today witnessed two tough semi final clashes as teams strived to book a Finale berth for tomorrow. In the first semi-final match it was Hockey Patiala which kept its nerves to win the match 1-0. The second semi final clash proved to be another exciting battle as Hockey Gangpur-Odisha went on to beat Chandigarh Olympic Association 4-1 and will be facing Hockey Patiala in the Finals tomorrow.

Hockey Patiala and Hockey Uttarakhand playing for the Finals spot for tomorrow had a tough clash as each team maintained good attack and also in the process the defense ensured that the teams did not get any opportunity to score. Unable to score any goal the first half resulted in a dry run and with the second half being the deciding session. The second half almost yielded the same results as first half, when finally in the 54thminute Hockey Patiala had a chance through Penalty corner. Realising that it might be the only chance, Chamapreet Kaur slapped the ball into the nets leaving the opponents stunned. This went on to the be winning goal as Hockey Uttrakhand were unable to break the shackles of the opponents to score.

Hockey Gangpur-Odisha started their semi final outing with a clear intent to win. immediately into the match they stunned Chandigarh Olympic Association as the 4th minute yielded a brilliant field goal by Janhabi Pradhan. This was followed by a brace from Prmanjali Toppo who because of her quick and alert skills scored through field efforts in the 17th and 32nd minute. This resulted in the half time scores at 3-0 in favor of  Hockey Gangpur-Odisha. Second half while Chandigarh Olympic Association started looking for the opportunities to capitalize, Hockey Gangpur-Odisha continued attacking and scoring. In the 38thminute the team scored its fourth goal which again came through the stick of Janhabi Pradhan. In their bid to make a comeback, Chandigarh Olympic Association finally opened its score in the 58th minute but it was too late for them, resulting in Hockey Gangpur-Odisha entering the finals  tomorrow.
