Hockey India Selection Committee has decided to prune down the list of Senior Women Core Group probables to 33 players during the two-day selection trials which concluded at Aish Bagh Stadium, Bhopal on 10 November.

Hockey India Selectors B.P Govinda, Savitry Purty and Surinder Kaur alongwith Government Observer Harbinder Singh and Chief Coach Neil Hawgood tested the fitness and performance of all the players before pruning down the list of core probables from 48 to 33 so as to build a strong team for New Zealand Test Series in December this year and the FIH World League Round 2 Tournament to be hosted in Delhi during February 2013.

The selectors will announce the squad of 18 players shortly for the New Zealand six match test series to be played in New Zealand from 6 – 16 December 2012.

India will be participating in the FIH World League Round 2 Tournament to be hosted in Delhi from 18 – 24 February 2013.

Hockey India congratulates PR Sreejesh on being appointed Co-Chair of the FIH Athletes Committee

The International Hockey Federation, on Wednesday, announced the appointment of the new FIH Athletes Committee, to be led by Co-Chairs Camila Caram of Chile and PR Sreejesh of India. While Camila Caram has been assigned Co-Chair and Athletes Committee Representative in the Executive Board, Indian Men's Hockey Team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh is the Co-Chair and he will lead the planning and meetings along with Caram.
