Chennai, 15 January 2019: Day Nine at the 9th Hockey India Senior National Hockey Championship 2019 (Men) B Division in Chennai, Tamil Nadu saw Hockey Patiala beat Delhi Hockey 4-3, Bengal Hockey Association beat Hockey Rajasthan 5-1, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu beat Hockey HIM 8-2, ,Central Industrial Security Force beat Hockey Puducherry 4-1.

With the Quarter Finals to be played on 17 January, the teams that have topped the Pool Standings as on today includes Hockey Maharashtra from Pool A, Sashastra Seema Bal from Pool B, Central Secretariat from Pool C, Bengaluru Hockey Association from Pool D, Hockey Patiala from Pool E, Food Corporation of India from Pool F, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu from Pool G and Hockey Coorg from Pool H.

In the first match of the day, Hockey Patiala beat Delhi Hockey 4-3 in their Pool E encounter. Baljeet Singh (5′, 8′), Rajveer Singh (7′),  Jaswinder Singh (43′) scored for Delhi Hockey while Rajiv’s hat-trick of goals in the 6th, 22nd, 46th minutes went in vain as they lost by a mere goal.

In another Pool E match, Bengal Hockey Association beat Hockey Rajasthan 5-1 in a one-sided match. Nitish Neupane (18′, 50′), Abhishek Pratap Singh (25′, 39′) and Alsem Lakra (29′) scored for the winning team while Devesh Vaishnav (42′) was the lone goal scorer for Hockey Rajasthan.

In Pool G match, table-toppers Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu beat Hockey HIM 8-2. S Manikandan (3′, 52′), V Vinod Rayer (8′), Senthil R Nayagam (11′), Senthil Krishnan (14′), V Vinodhan (36′), N Senthil (55′), J Joshua Benedict Wesely (58′) scored for the winners while Gagandeep (33′) and Narendra Kumar (59′) scored a goal each for Hockey HIM.

Another Pool G match, Central Industrial Security Force beat Hockey Puducherry 4-1. Harpreet Singh (6′, 30′), Basant Bharadwaj (21′), Atif Ateeq (52′) scored for the winners while E Yuvaraj (36′) scored for Hockey Puducherry.
