Chennai, 12 January 2019: Day Six at the 9th Hockey India Senior National Hockey Championship 2019 (Men) B Division in Chennai, Tamil Nadu saw Hockey Maharashtra, Central Secretariat, Hockey Uttarakhand, Hockey Andhra Pradesh, Hockey Jharkhand, Bengaluru Hockey Association, Sashastra Seema Bal, Major Port Sports Control Board register wins in their respective round robin matches here on Saturday.

Hockey Maharashtra beat Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy 2-1 in their Pool A match. Rahul Sander (27′) and Pratap Shinde (60′) scored in Hockey Maharashtra’s win while Himanshu Sanik (54′) scored the lone goal for Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy.

In a Pool C match, Central Secretariat beat Hockey Mizoram 12-0. Mohd Umar (9′, 53′, 57′) and BAA Felix (13′, 15′, 43′) scored a hat-trick for the winning team whille Govind Singh Rawat (8′), G Gnanavel (27′), Sanjib Ekka (47′), Dharambir Yadav (49′), Mohd Sahir (55′) and Arunkumar T (60′) were the other goal scorers.

In a Pool A match, Hockey Uttarakhand beat Hockey Bihar 9-4 in a high-scoring match. Saurabh Patwal (4′, 12′, 28′, 29′, 44′) scored a brilliant five goals while Sarik Ali (43′, 47′), Prakash Mehra (52′), Vijay Pal (59′) scored in Hockey Uttarakhand’s win. For Hockey Bihar, Munish (27′), Gaje (33′), Gourav (49′) and Anuj Raj (54′) scored a goal each.

In another Pool C match, Hockey Andhra Pradesh beat Hockey Gujarat 6-2. For the winners, Aron Tatiparthi (22′), Sai Chebrolu (34′, 39′), Dinakar Varikunta (37′), Veera Yedia (51′) and Durga Yenjala (57′) scored goals while Shubham Yadav (9′, 41′) scored twice for Hockey Gujarat.

Meanwhile Hockey Jharkhand beat Hockey Andaman & Nicobar 18-0. Susaran Dodray (3′), Suresh Mahato (7′, 54′, 57′), Noyel Topno (8′, 12′, 17′, 50′), Minas Topno (10′), Love Light Kujur (16′, 41′, 42′), Manoranjan Ekka (22′, 26′), Philmon Bhengra (36′), Anurud Bhengra (48′), Anand Champiya (52′, 58′) scored for the winning team.

Bengaluru Hockey Association beat Andhra Hockey Association 8-2 in their Pool D match. KR Umesh (10′), Kusha Gowda (14′), Harish Mutagar (22′, 23′, 30′), HT Ramesh (44′, 45′) and PP Belliappa scored in Bengaluru Hockey Association’s win while Siva Boya (41′) and P Kullayappa (55′) scored for Andhra Hockey Association.  In a closely fought Pool B match, Sashastra Seema Bal beat Hockey Jammu & Kashmir 3-2. Francis Toppo (13′), Sandeep Kumar (48′) and Joychandra Lisham (49′) scored for the winning team while Gurpreet Singh (2′) and Karanjit Singh (29′) scored for Hockey Jammu & Kashmir.

In a Pool D match, Major Port Sports Control Board beat Tripura Hockey 16-0. Peter Valentain Das (4′, 25′, 33′, 36′), Ainul Haq (8′, 17′, 35′, 56′) and Amit Yadav (48′, 50′, 51′, 58′) scored four goals each while Bara Junas (19′), Taranveer Singh (22′, 24′), Ravi Panchhe (43′) too scored for the winners.
