Hisar (Haryana), 10 February 2019: Action in the 9th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2019 (A Division) continued here on Sunday into its third day which saw Hockey Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy, Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Punjab register victories in their respective Pool matches.

In Pool A, Hockey Karnataka registered their second consecutive victory as they beat Hockey Coorg by a fine margin of 3-0. With the win, Hockey Karnataka remain in the second spot in their Pool with six points and in contention for a spot in the Quarter Finals of the competition. Goals for Hockey Karnataka were scored by HR Anjali (23′), Captain Leelavathy M J Mallamada (28′) and SR Avinashree (38′).

In Pool B, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy secured a 3-1 win over Hockey Bhopal to register their second victory in two matches. The match saw Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy score three goals through Navdeep Kaur (28′), Rakhi Prajapati (29′) and Sadhna Sengar (34′), while Hockey Bhopal’s only goal of the match came in the 60th minute through Shikha Singh.

Pool C’s only match of the day saw Hockey Maharashtra secure an emphatic 6-0 victory over Central Reserve Police Force which took them to a tally of six points from two matches. H Lalruatfeli (33′, 59′) scored twice for Hockey Maharashtra, while Pinky Devi Thokchom (10′), Diksha Patil (13′), Aishwarya Chavan (30′) and Renuka Yadav (56′) also contributed with goals.

In Pool D, it was Hockey Punjab who scored a 3-0 win over Kerala Hockey to register their second win in two matches. Rajwinder Kaur (32′), Navpreet Kaur (39′) and Ekta Kaushik (54′) scored the goals in Hockey Punjab’s victory.

Hockey India congratulates PR Sreejesh on being appointed Co-Chair of the FIH Athletes Committee

The International Hockey Federation, on Wednesday, announced the appointment of the new FIH Athletes Committee, to be led by Co-Chairs Camila Caram of Chile and PR Sreejesh of India. While Camila Caram has been assigned Co-Chair and Athletes Committee Representative in the Executive Board, Indian Men's Hockey Team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh is the Co-Chair and he will lead the planning and meetings along with Caram.
