Hisar (Haryana), 09 February 2019: Action in the 9th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2019 (A Division) continued here on Saturday into its second day which saw Railway Sports Promotion Board, Hockey Rajasthan, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh Hockey and Hockey Jharkhand register victories in their respective Pool matches.

In Pool A, it was Defending Champions Railway Sports Promotion Board who secured their second win in a row as they beat Hockey Odisha by a margin of 8-0. Goals for Railway Sports Promotion Board were scored by Neha (9′, 28′), Reena Khokhar (33′, 37′), Anupa Barla (40′, 57′), Preeti Dubey (43′) and Vandana Katariya (51′).

In the other Pool A match, Hockey Rajasthan secured their first win of the competition as they defeated Hockey Coorg 5-1. Goals for Hockey Rajasthan were scored by Beena Pandey (24′, 30′, 50′), Reena Saini (33′) and Raju Ranwa (58′), while Hockey Coorg’s only goal came in the 28th minute through Swapna N R.

Pool B saw Hockey Madhya Pradesh register their second consecutive win by beating Hockey Gangpur-Odisha 3-0. Hockey Madhya Pradesh’s goals were scored by Neelu Dadiya (20′), Jyoti Pal (29′) and Karishma Singh (51′).

In the other Pool B match, it was Chhattisgarh Hockey who produced a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hockey Bhopal. The only goal of the match came in the 48th minute when Shashi Lakra scored for Chhattisgarh Hockey in the 48th minute.

Pool D’s encounter saw Hockey Jharkhand register a 7-0 victory over Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu to win their second match of the competition. Punam Barla (5′, 6′) and Birajini Ekka (29′, 48′) scored a brace each, while Pinki Ekka (28′), Rajni Soreng (36′) and Nomita Xalxo (38′) also contributed with goals.
