Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), 21 April 2018: Action in the 8th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2018 (B Division) continued here today which saw Hockey Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha Hockey Association, Hockey Gujarat, Andhra Hockey Association, Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy and Kerala Hockey all register victories.

In Pool A, Hockey Andhra Pradesh continued their winning streak as they beat Bengaluru Hockey Association 15-0 where goals were scored by Bhavani Madugula (32’, 43’, 48’, 50’, 56’), skipper Mary Lotla (17’, 25’, 37’, 55’), Vara Lakshmi Uppidi (16’, 18’), Spandana Bokam (45’, 70’), Kalyani Swarna Poodi (33’) and Dhanalaxmi Kotari (66’).

In another Pool A match, Vidarbha Hockey Association started their campaign with a 3-0 victory against Goans Hockey. Goals for Vidarbha Hockey Association were scored by Yadnya Sangole (23’, 60’) and Himanshi Gawande (67’).

In Pool B, Hockey Gujarat also started their campaign with a victory as they defeated Hockey Puducherry 8-1. Goals for Hockey Gujarat were scored by skipper Rutu Dhingani (19’, 54’, 60’), Kaksha Sitapara (34’, 42’), Khushi Vyas (13’), Maitri Solanki (16’) and Sweta Singh (46’) while S Jayapratha (37’) scored the only goal for Hockey Puducherry.

The second Pool B match of the day saw Assam Hockey and Manipur Hockey play out a 5-5 draw. Goals for Assam Hockey were scored by Munmuni Das (4’), Priyanshi (11’), Martina Jharia (20’), Jespina Horo (21’) and Elina Tigga (70’) while Shileima Chanu Khaidem (35’, 58’, 60’, 69’) and Daina Devi Ningombam (16’) scored for Manipur Hockey.

In Pool C, Andhra Hockey Association also won their first match of the campaign as they beat Telangana Hockey 10-0. Goals for the victors were scored by Roshitha Pulicharla (4’, 23’, 33’, 70’), Maheswari Balagonda (29’, 34’), Snehalatha Madiga (12’), Ramalakshmi Boya (17’), Jyothi Undabanda (26’) and Kamala Esukapalli (56’).

The second Pool C match saw Sports Authority of Gujarat – Hockey Academy score another convincing victory as they defeated Bengal Hockey Association 3-1.

Goals for the winning team were scored by Heena Chauhan (40’), Shivangi Solanki (67′) and Prachi Patel (70’) while skipper Sathi Dolui (17′) scored for Bengal Hockey Association.

In Pool D, Kerala Hockey defeated Hockey Madhya Pradesh 7-3. Goals for Kerala Hockey were scored by captain KM Arya (23’, 41’, 65’), S Swetha (5’, 21’), S Sibya (28’) and Shoja Jayaprakash (68’) while Sanju Prajapati (24’, 51’) and Bhoomika Pandre (5’) scored for Hockey Madhya Pradesh.
