Poonam Youth Welfare Organisation has been organising this Inter School tournament called Rajat Memorial Inter School Hockey Tournament in Cuttack, Odisha since 2011. Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, Bhubaneswar defeated Giridharijew Vidyapitha, Holipur by 4-3 in a thrilling encounter to win the 6th Rajat Memorial Inter School Hockey Tournament organised by Poonam Youth Welfare Organisation at the Odisha Police High School Ground, Cuttack. It was a very close game of hockey and both the sides displayed brilliant stick work and enthralled the crowd present.

Binay Bilasan Ekka of KISS scored 3 goals(1 Penalty corner and 3 field goals) while Sadhu Kirsani also chipped in with 1 goal to ensure a victory for the KISS side from the state capital.

For, Giridharijew Vidyapitha, Holipur, Sagar Nayak scored a couple of goals while Sashikanta Moahnty also gave one goal. Despite of their spirited performance in the tournament, they ended up at the second position.

Rajesh Bhoi of Giridharijew Vidyapitha was awarded the Best Player of the tournament trophy whereas Binay Bilsan Ekka from KISS was given the prize for being the best goal scorer in the tournament.

Mr. Gyanesh Kanungo, coach and chief organizer, PYWO extended the vote of thanks and also felicitated international hockey technical, Mr. Biswa Ranjan Sarangi who has also got a long association with PYWO.

The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Pratap Satapathy, Hony. secy. Hockey Odisha and Smt. Janaki Sahoo, Headmistress of Odisha Police high school, Cuttack yesterday.
