New Delhi, 3 June 2013: Punjab, Sports Authority of India and Karnataka started their campaign on a winning note in the 3rd Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2013 commencing at Nehru School of Sports, Rai in Sonepat today.

Punjab defeated Kerala 13-0 in their opening league match of Pool A. Punjab scored through Parvinder Singh (7, 13 51, 53, 59 min), Gaganpreet Singh (23, 44 min),Harsahib Singh (32 min), Gurinder Singh (38 min), Vikramjit Singh (46 min), Ajit Pandit (50 min), Gujrant Singh (63 min) and Lovepreet Singh (66 min).

In the other match of Pool A, Jharkhand beat Mumbai Hockey Association Limited 3-0. Jharkhand scored through Sumanta (41 min), Rahul (66 min) and Sanjay (69 min).

Sports Authority of India beat Manipur 11-1 in their Pool E league match. Sandeep Kumar Singh scored six goals for Sports Authority of India.

In the other match of Pool E, Karnataka registered their first win, as they defeated Rajasthan 13-0. Karnataka scored through Jitender (7, 52, 56 min), Sanjib (14 min), Shreyash (18, 38 min), Shaik Adil (31 min), Rakesh (33, 54, 59 min), Shesha Gowda (24, 38 min), Suras Singh (49 min) and Anjaneya (65 min).

In Pool G, Assam beat Bihar 6-1.
