New Delhi, 19 October 2013: Punjab and Sind Bank (Delhi) defeated Indian Oil Corporation (Mumbai) 2-1 to claim the title of the 30th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament 2013 played at the Burlton Park Stadium in Jalandhar on Friday. It is a record 10th time that Punjab & Sind Bank have won the title of the tournament.

Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Parkash Singh Badal presented the glittering trophy to the Punjab & Sind Bank team alongwith a cheque of Rs 5 lakh as the prize money for the winners.

Punjab & Sind Bank took an early lead of 1-0 through the field goal converted by their Captain Sarvanjit Singh.

The last year champions IOC equalizes the score 1-1 at the half time when Vikramjit Singh successfully converted the penalty corner.

Punjab & Sind Bank was awarded a penalty corner in the final minutes of the game. IOC foiled the attack of the PSB to convert the penalty corner into a goal but a foul play in stopping the entry of the ball in the net proved costly for the IOC and Sarvanjit Singh struck the goal.
