Rohtak, Haryana 08th February, 2016: The day 1 of the 6th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2016 (A Division) saw some exciting clashes. The first match in Pool A was won by Hockey Punjab against Delhi Hockey by 13-1 and the second match of Pool A was won by Hockey Chandigarh beating Hockey Maharashtra by 2-1. In a Pool B Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy clashed with Hockey Jharkhand and it ended with a score of 5-0. In the second match Uttar Pradesh Hockey beats Hockey Patiala by 3-1. Pool C witnessed Sports Authority of India defeating Hockey Odisha with a score of 6-1. Another clash in Pool C was in between Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh Hockey which ended with a score of 2-1. In Pool D Hockey Haryana & Hockey Gangapur-Odisha scored 1-1. The second match of Pool D between Hockey Andhra Pradesh and Hockey Karnataka ended at a score of 5-2

Hockey Punjab in the first match of the day defeated Delhi Hockey by a heavy goal difference of 13-1. Hockey Punjab team dominated the match since it started with scoring the first goal in the 2nd minute of the game. The first goal opened up the weaknesses in Delhi Hockey defence and  Hockey Punjab team capitalized by putting continuously 13 goals passed them. In the second match of Pool A Hockey Chandigarh defeated Hockey Maharashtra with 2-1. The First Goal was scored by Hockey Maharashtra at 4th minute and followed by two consecutive goals by Hockey Chandigarh at 11th and 44th minute respectively.

Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Hockey Jharkhand by 5-0 in the first match of Pool B. Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy took the first goal at 5th minute and continued scoring four more goals till the 30th minute. In the second match of Pool B Uttar Pradesh Hockey defeated Hockey Patiala by 3-1. The match stared with Uttar Pradesh Hockey scoring the first goal and continued to score two more goals, while Hockey Patiala took only score goal.

The dominance of Sports Authority of India was the highlight in Pool C as they defeated Hockey Odisha by a score line of 6-1. The first goal of the match was scored at the 13th minute, while sports Authority of India scored the first goal at 25th minute. The first half ended with a score of 2-1 in Sp0orts Authority of India. The dominant team carrying the momentum forward put four more goals past the Hockey Odisha goalkeeper and the Odisha team couldn’t find an answer. The second match of Pool C between Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh Hockey ended at a score of 2-1. Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu took the first and second goal at 10th and 13th minute respectively, while Chhattisgarh Hockey took its first goal at the 40th minute.

The first Pool D match between Hockey Gangapur-Odisha & Hockey Haryana came to a draw with both teams securing one goal each at 11th minute and 35th minute respectively. The second match in Pool D between Hockey Andhra Pradesh and Hockey Karnataka was won by Hockey Andhra Pradesh with a score of 5-2. The first goal of the match was scored by Hockey Andhra Pradesh at the 6th minute, while Hockey Karnataka took the first goal at 27th minute. Hockey Andhra Pradesh continued to score five more goals and Hockey Karnataka came to a hault with just only one more goal during the match.
