Incheon (South Korea), 22 September 2014: After routing Sri Lanka 8-0 in their opening match of the 17thAsian Games, the Indian Men Hockey Team is aiming at sealing another win when they take on Oman at Seonhak Hockey Stadium in Incheon South Korea tomorrow.

Having met in the 2006 Asian Games, India defeated Oman 9-0. While India will be looking forward to register their second consecutive win in the Asian Games but Oman will be preparing to avenge the 2006 defeat.

Post their successful outing in the XX Commonwealth Games, bagging the silver medal, Indian team looks highly motivated and in splendid form. With the likes of Rupinder Pal Singh who scored three goals, Ramandeep Singh cashing on a total of two goals and V R Raghunath, Chinglensana Singh and Nikkin Thimmaiah sneaking in a goal each against Sri Lanka in the first match, the Indian clan looks tough this time.

Speaking before the match against Oman, the Indian defender Rupinder Pal Singh said, “It was a pleasure to see how the team effort proved to be really successful for us. I am also glad that the modules practised during the training sessions are being efficiently implemented and has helped in the overall game play. After converting a total of three goals against Sri Lanka, I am looking forward to continue my game with the same spirit and enthusiasm against Oman as well and deliver even better results.”

Adding further to Rupinder Pal Singh’s comment, the Indian Goal-Keeper and Vice-Captain PR Sreejesh said, “Having defeated Sri Lanka in the first match itself has helped in boosting the confidence of the players. The team looks well in shape and ready to take on Oman with an aim to continue the winning form and make the most out of the preliminary matches. I enjoyed watching the goals scored from the other end and i am hoping to see the same play yet again tomorrow against Oman”
