Karnataka defeated Kerala 8-0 to win title of 2nd Hockey India Sub-Junior Boys National Championship (South Zone) at Trivandrum on Sunday.

Mohammad Raheel topped the score list for Karnataka with four goals (14th, 40th, 44th and 46th minute) followed by Harshith Aiyamma (11th minute), K. P Somaiah (16th minute), Machaiah (47th minute) and Prithviraj (51st minute).

In final of 2nd Hockey India Sub- Junior Girls National Championship (South Zone), Karnataka beat Kerala 8-2. Karnataka scored through Sindhu (3rd and 13th minute), Amulya (10th minute), Sandhya (34th minute), Chaitra (36th minute), Soundarya (39th and 40th minute) and Ruchitha (43rd minute).

Karnataka and Tamil Nadu (boys and girls both) teams have qualified from South Zone for 2nd Hockey India Sub- Junior  Boys and Girls National Championship to be held at Rohtak, Haryana from 1- 7 November 2012.
