Antwerp (Belgium), 21 July 2018: The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team put up a valiant performance to beat hosts Belgium 2-1 and win the Bronze medal in the U-23 Five Nations Tournament (Men) here on Saturday.

India dominated the start with an early 8th minute goal by Rajkumar Pal that put hosts on the back foot. The visitors, meanwhile, rode on the 1-0 lead and put pressure on the Belgians.

The next two quarters was goalless, when both teams pushed each other for a goal. Belgium finally made a breakthrough in the 40th minute with a goal by Cyril. However, forward Abharan Sudev scored in the 59th minute that helped India win the match 2-1.

The 19-year-old was part of the team that claimed the Gold medal at the Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 and also travelled with the team to Dusseldorf, Germany for the 2023 4 Nations Junior Women's Invitational Tournament. Ropni was also a key player for the side at the 2023 FIH Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile and played in all six games.
