Kuantan, Malaysia, November 16th, 2015:  The Indian colts will be playing China in the last Pool A match of the 8th Junior Men’s Asia Cup on 17th November, 2015. The match will decide the fate of China in the tournament whereas India only needs a draw to qualify for the quarter finals. The previous results against China have been in favour of India and the Chinese performance so far in the tournament will give India a psychological advantage in the match.

The tournament has been exciting for India and the team has had two very close matches against Japan where India was victorious 2-1 and the nail biter against the host nation Malaysia where India came out victorious 5-4 after surviving the Malaysian comeback in the last moments of the game.

Coach, India Junior Men’s Hockey Team, Harendra Singh said, “The one day rest has helped us to analyse our performance in the tournament and look back at the areas of concern. We have trained hard and tried to fill up the gaps in the defence so that we can play a tighter game. We will be hoping for a much more balanced performance in the match against China.”

The 8th Junior Asia Cup will be played from the 14 – 22 November 2015 at the Wisma Belia Hockey Stadium in Kuantan, Malaysia. One of the elite Asian tournaments, the 8th Junior Asia Cup will see the top eight Asian hockey powerhouses playing for supremacy. India is placed in Pool A with Malaysia, Japan and China.
