Breda (Netherlands), 23 July 2015: To re-gain the winning streak, India U-21 Men team is now looking for a victory against tournament favourites England in their fifth league match on 24th July, to climb up in the points-table of the Volvo Invitational U-21 (Men) Tournament being played at Breda, The Netherlands. Post their match against Netherlands, India is sitting on the 4th position with 6 points while England is sitting on top of the points table.

Goal-keeper Suraj Karkera, considered as the back-bone of the Indian defence-line, show-cased his high-class goalkeeping talents as he has successfully saved crucial goals which helped put huge pressure on the opponents. The team with their two impressive first wins will look at repeating the same show during their match against England tomorrow.

On the other side, the England U-21 team is confident with their unbeaten run in the tournament and a win against India will solidify their spot in the final match. England’s thumping’s victory over Belgium and Germany gave them a good start in the tournament and become the title contender of the tournament. With two draws against The Netherlands and New Zealand, they maintained their top position on the points-table.

Speaking ahead of their fifth match, India U-21 Captain Harjeet Singh said, “The last two matches were disappointing for us as we lost the matches in a manner which was not very good. We played well and dominated the matches, but failed to materialise on our opportunities. We are upset but not demoralised and we will come-back with more wins. We are working on our attacks and penalty corners, looking for positive results in the remaining matches. England is a good team and unbeatable till now. But we have some good players who have the abilities to stun the opponents. We are ready and will play for the win against England.

Aiming for another victory, Coach Harendra Singh stated, “The last two defeats exposed our weaknesses in the forward line and we are now focussing on resolving the issues. The boys are working harder and looking for out-of-the-box strategies for better finishing. Tomorrow’s match will be crucial for us as a win will give us confidence and take us up the points-table. England is a good team and we are well-prepared to face them. I am looking forward to a good clash tomorrow.”

India U-21 match against England U-21 will be played at 20:30 IST on 24th July 2015 at Breda, The Netherlands.
