New Delhi, 27th May 2016: Hockey India today announced it has inducted Petroleum Sports Promotion Board as an Associate Member, making it the 36th member in this category.

With this inclusion, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board can now take part in all the Annual National Championships which are being conducted by Hockey India.  Petroleum Sports Promotion Board was established in June 1979 and registered through Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 as extended to the Union Territory of Delhi. Presently it is a 12 member organization (ONGC, IOCL, HPCL, OIL, GAIL, EIL, CPCL, MRPL, NRL, Balmer Lawrie and PLL) which form the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board.

Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad, Secretary General, Hockey India welcomed Petroleum Sports Promotion Board for their entry into Hockey India as an Associate Member. “The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board has produced some talented hockey players in the past. PSPB (Petroleum Sports Promotion Board) has contributed immensely in the development and promotion of Indian Hockey. With Petroleum Sports Promotion Board becoming an Associate Member, it may open a window for identification of new taken and for a number of job opportunities for our hockey players ,” said Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad.

The International Hockey Federation, on Wednesday, announced the appointment of the new FIH Athletes Committee, to be led by Co-Chairs Camila Caram of Chile and PR Sreejesh of India. While Camila Caram has been assigned Co-Chair and Athletes Committee Representative in the Executive Board, Indian Men's Hockey Team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh is the Co-Chair and he will lead the planning and meetings along with Caram.
