New Delhi, 7th January 2014: Hockey India today announced that complimentary tickets of the forthcoming Hero Hockey World League Final will be issued to former hockey Olympians and international players to witness the matches. Hero Hockey World League Final will be held at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi from 10-18 January 2014.

All former hockey Olympians and international players are encouraged to contact Mr. Ajit Pal Singh and Dr. R P Singh, Selector Hockey India to request their tickets. Hockey India Secretary General Dr. Narinder Batra said it would be a privilege for Hockey India to invite all former hockey Olympians and international players to witness the top teams of World in action during Hero Hockey World League Final. “Their presence will encourage the Indian team who is ready for the challenge and all the organisers of the tournament. Keeping in mind the immense contribution of former hockey Olympians and international players have made to our great game, Hockey India is continued to recognise their efforts” said Dr. Batra.

The tournament schedule is set with two pools of four teams followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals, classification and medal matches. Pool A will feature Germany, England, New Zealand and India while Australia, Argentina, Belgium and Netherlands in Pool B.

The opening day of the event (Friday 10 January 2014), will feature all eight teams including India who will open its campaign against England in Pool A, followed by matches against New Zealand on 11 January and Germany on 13 January 2014.
