New Delhi, 1 July 2013: Hero Hockey India League today organized its 5thFranchise workshop at Hotel The Lalit in New Delhi. The meeting was attended by representatives from each of the franchises.

In the workshop, Hero HIL made presentations and detailed analysis on the results of the inaugural season of the Hero HIL 2013. Plans were also discussed on how to make the league more successful in the second season starting from 23 January 2014.

In the workshop, Hero HIL Advisory Board Members Mr. Arun Jaitley (Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha) and Mr. Rajat Sharma (Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, India TV) also gave their comments and opinions on how to make Hero HIL a global brand.

Mr. Arun Jaitley, Member, Hero HIL Advisory Board complimented Hero HIL teams and franchises for displaying their interest in organizing the inaugural season of the league in such a professional manner. “Hero HIL has the potential of becoming an international global brand and is on the road to achieve it. With the introduction of Hero HIL, we see that fans and audience are watching and engaged in the sport. In the last 2-3 years, hockey is on the road to recovery” Mr. Jaitley said.

Mr. Jaitley further added that the inaugural season of Hero HIL was clean from controversy and played with good integrity which was a result of the strong administration.

Mr. Rajat Sharma, Member, Hero HIL Advisory Board congratulated Hero HIL and all its stakeholders for the successful conduct of the inaugural season. “I was surprised after watching the first match of the Hero HIL, the crowd in the stadium was beyond my expectations and I think this league can play an important role in bringing back glory for the country” Mr. Sharma said.

Dr. Narinder Batra, Chairman Hero Hockey India League said “We are making our best efforts to present a more spectacular League in 2014, and through the workshop we obtain invaluable feedback from our franchise partners that we are taking on board for the sustainability and success of the league”.

Mr. Abhinav Bindra (Olympic Gold Medalist Shooter), Ms. Manisha Malhotra (Former Lawn Tennis Player & CEO, Mittal Champions Trust) and Mr. Viren Rasquina (Former International Hockey Player & CEO, Olympic Gold Quest) were special guests who also attended the Hero HIL Workshop.
