Bhubaneswar, 19 November 2014: Hockey India announced the kick-start of the ticket sales of the much awaited FIH Champions Trophy 2014, here in the city on 13 November 2014. The announcement witnessed Mr. Saswat Mishra, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sports and Youth Services, buying the first ticket from the outlet. The tournament is the most awaited amongst the hockey fans as they even gear up to witness India continuing its winning spree.

A total of 20 outlets will be selling the tickets across Bhubaneswar, which includes six Café Coffee Day outlets, six outlets of The Moblie Store and eight individual stores spread out across Bhubaneswar, hence ensuring that the tickets are easily available to the fans.

Prices ranging from Rs.20 to Rs.1000 the tournament gives the option to many to come and watch the game Live. With the tournament being played at The Kalinga Stadium in the city and which is even the home ground of the Hero Hockey India League’s franchisee Kalinga Lancers, has a seating capacity for approximately 7000 spectators.

Speaking on the announcement, Hockey India Secretary General Mr. Md. Mushtaque Ahmad said, “With the Indian Men Hockey Team winning the just culminated Australian Series alongwith the Gold Medal at the Asiad last month, the hockey fans are excited to catch their heroes LIVE here at the Kalinga Stadium. Keeping this in mind we decided to keep the range between Rs. 20 – 1000 and in a way giving everyone the option of coming to the stadium to catch the top 8 teams of the world clashing for the title”.

With the tournament divided into two Pools (‘A’ and ‘B’), India is placed in Pool ‘B’ along with Netherlands, Germany and Argentina. India will be playing its first match in the Championship against Germany on 6th December 2014 at 1930 HRS (IST).
