New Delhi, 15 April 2013: Chandigarh defeated Punjab 2-1 in the final of 3rdHockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship (North Zone) played at Sonepat, Haryana on Monday.

Punjab took lead in the 20th minute with the field goal scored by Kawaljit Singh but three minutes later Manjinder Singh leveled the score for Chandigarh.

In the second half of the game Chandigarh controlled and dictated the pace to enjoy the upper hand. There was variety in their moves with the forwards never starved of passes from the midfield.

The field goal scored by Harmeet Singh in the 64th minute helped Chandigarh to win the final.

Chandigarh 2 (Manjinder Singh 24 and Harmeet Singh 64) beat Punjab 1(Kawaljit Singh 20)
