9th February, 2016, Rohtak: Day 2 of the 6th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2016 (A Division) in Rohtak, Haryana saw some exciting clashes. In the first match of the day in Pool A Hockey Punjab defeated Hockey Maharashtra in a one sided affair. In Pool A match Hockey Punjab won 6-0 against Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Chandigarh won 7-4 against Delhi Hockey. First match of Pool B was won by Hockey Jharkhand by 7-2 against Uttar Pradesh Hockey. The Pool C encounters saw Sports Authority of India dominate Chhattisgarh Hockey 11-0 and Hockey Odisha beat Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 6-0. The first match in Pool D was won 7-0 by Hockey Haryana against Hockey Andhra Pradesh.

The first half started with the Punjab team on the attack who scored their first goal in the 2nd minute through Amandeep Kaur. The first half saw 4 more goals being scored by Hockey Punjab to end the first half at 5-0 in favour of Hockey Punjab. The second half started with another goal scoring attack within moments of the start of the second half to make the score 6-0 . The match ended with Punjab winning the game 6-0.

The northern derby between Delhi Hockey and Hockey Chandigarh in Pool A ended in a win for the latter by 4-7. Delhi scored the first goal in the 8th minute through Roobi but Chandigarh scored two quick goals on 18th and 22nd minute to take the lead. Delhi Hockey made up for their defensive mistakes quickly and ended the half on a high note with a lead of one goal 3-2.  The second half started with Delhi scoring their 4th goal but Chandigarh came back strongly to score 5 goals within 11 minutes to win the match 7-4. Akshita Yadav and Kavita scored a brace in the win for Chandigarh.

 Hockey Jharkhand gave a dominating performance in Pool B against Uttar Pradesh Hockey with a 7-2 win over the later. Deepika Soreng scored 4 goals in the team’s win. Eastern domination also prevailed in a Pool C where Hockey Odisha beat Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 6-0. Hockey Odisha scored 2 goals in the first half through a field goal and a penalty corner. Hockey Odisha picked up the game the pressing game in the second half to score 4 more goals and establish their supremacy. The Tamil Nadu defense had no answer to Odisha’s attacking moves. Bimal Barwa scored a brace from the Hockey Odisha team in the win.

Sports Authority of India gave a strong performance in Pool C making a statement of the Chhattisgarh Hockey by defeating them 11-0 in the match. Sports Authority of India started with a goal in the first minute and went on to score 3 more goals in the first half taking the score to 4-0. The former continued with the same attacking momentum in the second half and went past the helpless Chhattisgarh defense 7 more times to end the match with a score line of 11-0. Monika Sihag the Captain scored 4 goals while F.Lalawmpuii scored a hat trick in the win.

Hockey Haryana in a Pool D match later in the day sailed past Hockey Andhra Pradesh beating them by 7-0. The first half saw only two goals being scored by the former keeping Hockey Andhra Pradesh still in the chase. Hockey Haryana opened the second half with an even more attacking game plan and scored 5 more goals to end the match with a 7-0 win. Manju Chorsiya scored a hat-trick in the win for Haryana.
