Jalandhar, October 12 : Aamna Meer of Lahore will lead the Punjab-XI (Pakistan) women hockey team in the 30th IndianOil Surjit Hockey Tournament, in progress here at olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Burlton Park.

 

According to Iqbal Singh Sandhu,PCS, organizing Secretary of the tournament that Mohammad Usman, Olympian, Former Captain of Pakistan Hockey Team and Chief Coach of the Pakistan Women Hockey team will accompany the team as Chief-de-mission where as Khadija Usman will be the Dy.Chief-de-mission of the contingent.  The other members and officials of the Pakintan team will be  Syeda Yasmin, Ishrat Abbas, Zakia Nawaz, Aamna Meer, Asma Ashraf, Aqsa Ashraf. Aqsa Mumtaaz, Hina Kanwal (Vice Captain), Mayira Sabir, Ambreen Arshad, Nafeesa Anwar, Ayesha Bashir, Afshan Naureen, Iqbal Javed Iqbal, Mariam Mansha (all Players), Sonia, Khan  (Coach of the team) Muhammad Parvaiz (Assistt. Coach) and Shaman Rashid Bhut  (Manager) .

 

The Pakistani Women team will arrive at Wahga Border (Attari) by road on October 13. Team will play three matches of test series during the ongoing 30th IndianOil Surjit Hockey Tournament with Punjab-XI (India) on 14, 15 & 17 October. It is the first time that any Pakistan’s Punjab women hockey team is participating in since partition, Mr. Sandhu added.
